Edition 2025 — 606 Reed and Blues

14th edition of La Nuit du Blues, an evening dedicated to female blues artists. An unprecedented program called Nuit du Blues très féminine, which challenges the conventions of a genre long dominated by men, at the Municipal Theatre of Sens. Intimate and powerful atmosphere, in two sets with intermission.

14th Blues Night: A Resolutely Feminine Evening

For its 14th edition on September 22, 2025, the Blues Night organized by the 606 Reed and Blues association has chosen to pay tribute to the women who make and have made the blues. Under the evocative title Nuit du Blues très féminine (Very Feminine Blues Night), the evening at the Municipal Theatre of Sens highlighted female artists whose voices and playing embody the full depth and sensuality of the genre.

This edition reflects the editorial line that the association has championed since its origins: not to confine the blues to a fixed image, but to show its vitality, diversity, and capacity for reinvention. The usual format — two acts in two sets with an intermission — allowed the audience to experience an intense three-hour evening in the beautiful hall of the Sens theatre.

A Militant and Artistic Approach

By programming an entirely female Blues Night, the 606 Reed and Blues association sends a strong message to the local and national music scene. The blues has its great female figures — from Bessie Smith to Etta James, from Bonnie Raitt to Susan Tedeschi — and it was time to pay them this tribute in Sénonais. The evening confirmed, if it were necessary, that women's voices carry the blues with particular power and authenticity.
