Edition 2025 — A Festival in Villeréal

The 16th edition of A Festival in Villeréal was held from July 2 to 6, 2025. The first edition under the artistic direction of Laurette Tessier and Nicolas Candoni, it highlighted women artists with 10 shows mixing theater, concerts, screenings, and encounters in unusual locations in the village.

16th Edition - "Seeing Theater Differently" (2025)

The 16th edition of A Festival in Villeréal took place from July 2 to 6, 2025, marking a turning point in the festival's history with the artistic direction taken over by Laurette Tessier and Nicolas Candoni, succeeding Samuel Vittoz, the festival's founder.

This edition featured 10 shows with a particular focus on women artists: writers, directors, company leaders, actresses, and visual artists. The festival invited the public to experience "intense, moving, and sensitive adventures that encourage us to renew our perspectives".

Program

Among the highlights of this edition:

  • Three creations by Claire Bosse-Platière, a young author in the spotlight, including J'ai toujours voulu faire bien, a contemporary tragedy exploring the mechanisms of coercion and domestic violence.
  • Se sauver by Pauline Murris, a show in episodic format.
  • Chôra by Céline Domengie, a performative walk.
  • Monstre(s), a show for young audiences about a woman's journey to overcome her fears.
  • Concerts: Valentine Viale and CXK.

The performances took place in unusual locations: Intermarché parking lot, rugby stadium, village streets, and gardens, continuing the tradition of theater emerging in everyday life.
