10th Anniversary: Material at the Heart of Creation
The 10th edition of AKAA celebrated a decade of promoting contemporary African art from October 23 to 25, 2025, at the Carreau du Temple. Under the artistic direction of Sitor Senghor, a Franco-Senegalese curator, gallerist, and collector, this anniversary edition brought together over 70 artists and highlighted material in all its forms: pigmented, woven, enameled, or repurposed.
The edition explored African artisanal know-how and its dialogue with contemporary creation, in a scenography designed to enhance the diversity of techniques and materials. A program of talks, performances, and special projects complemented the commercial offerings.
