14th Edition: Tribute to Michel Legrand
The 14th edition of the Automne Jazz en Velay festival unfolded from September 25 to 28, 2025, between Saint-Germain-Laprade and Le Puy-en-Velay, with a tribute to the composer Michel Legrand, a giant of French music and cinema, as its central theme.
The festival began on Thursday, September 25, with the screening of the documentary Il était une fois Michel Legrand (Once Upon a Time Michel Legrand) at the Centre Culturel de Saint-Germain-Laprade and at the Langeac cinema. On Friday, the 26th, a writing workshop was held at the médiathèque of Brives-Charensac with saxophonist Gaël Horellou and drummer Antoine Paganotti.
The festival's highlight took place on Saturday, September 27, at 8:30 PM at the Théâtre du Puy-en-Velay with Claude Égéa's quintet paying tribute to Michel Legrand, led by saxophonist Gaël Horellou.
On Sunday, September 28, the Jardin Henri Vinay once again hosted La Folle journée du jazz, a free and family-friendly event celebrating jazz in all its forms with activities, open-air concerts, workshops, and meet-and-greets.
