Auvillar Poetry Festival 2025
On June 27th and 28th, 2025, the village of Auvillar once again vibrated to the rhythm of living poetry. Under the 18th-century circular hall, the architectural emblem of the village classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, contemporary poets came to read, share, and dialogue with a curious and attentive audience from all over Tarn-et-Garonne and neighboring departments.
The program for the two days alternated between public readings by invited poets, writing workshops open to all levels, performances blending poetry with other artistic forms, and moments of informal exchange in the village alleys between poets and readers. An ephemeral bookstore allowed the public to purchase the collections of the present authors and have them signed.
The exceptional setting of Auvillar — its panoramas of the Garonne valley, its medieval alleys, its unique circular hall in the Southwest — offered poetry a setting of rare beauty and emotion, confirming the village's natural vocation to host the arts of speech and language.
