20th Edition — July 9 to August 9, 2024

For its 20th edition, the Aux Heures d'Été festival celebrated "World Rituals", exploring ceremonies, celebrations, and ritual practices from cultures around the globe. From July 9 to August 9, 2024, about thirty free events took place in Nantes' parks and gardens.

Among the highlights of this anniversary edition were the vibrant healing rituals of flutist and composer Naïssam Jalal, the shamanic awakening of drummer Adrien Chennebault, New Orleans Mardi Gras with the exuberant 79rs Gang, Haitian voodoo chants with the group Tranpé, Afro-Venezuelan trance and songs of praise from Parranda La Cruz, and a walk in a cemetery with Boulevard des Allongés.

The Château des ducs de Bretagne hosted 11 concerts in its moats, including performances by 79rs Gang, Parranda La Cruz, and devotional songs from Aspromonte with Davide Ambrogio. The Italian musician also offered a "Calabrian awakening" at the Tour Lu and yoga and singing workshops at the Maison de l'Europe. The Hungarian group Söndörgő participated in the European Sounds of Europe project, while Togolese author Kossi Efoui offered readings, and the Angers Nantes Opera Choir paraded through the city's parks and gardens.
