Argilla 2025 — Italy as guest of honor
The 17th edition of Argilla took place on August 9 and 10, 2025, in the streets of Aubagne's city center. 200 exhibitors from 17 nationalities transformed the city into a vast ceramics market, with Italy as the guest of honor — notably featuring Deruta, Aubagne's twin city and a renowned center for Italian maiolica. The highlight of this edition was the organization of the first European Pottery Turning Championship, in addition to the 4th French Championship, under the artistic direction of Stéphane Montalto, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, August 10, at 5:30 pm.
The exhibition Alchemy of Clay, dedicated to Italian ceramics, was displayed at the Chapelle des Pénitents Noirs from June 21 to September 13. Ceramic painting workshops for children, a collective decoration project themed around Italy, and demonstrations of coil building techniques completed the program.
