21st Biennale de la Danse — September 2025
The 21st edition of the Biennale de la Danse took place from September 6 to 28, 2025 in Lyon and its metropolitan area, with a regional extension until October 17. Featuring 40 performances, including 24 creations and French premieres, this edition left a mark with its richness and diversity.
Brasil Agora!
A highlight of the edition, the Brasil Agora! program showcased Brazilian contemporary dance, notably with the creation Borda by Lia Rodrigues, presented as a French premiere at the Maison de la Danse on September 6 and 8.
Major Artists
Among the featured artists: Jan Martens (The Dog Days Are Over), Gisèle Vienne (Crowd), and many emerging figures of the global choreographic avant-garde. The Forum, a new experimentation space, hosted curators and artists from outside Europe.
The Parade
The "Recycled Dances" Parade on September 7 brought together 3,000 participants in the streets of Lyon, offering a moment of popular and festive sharing.
The edition attracted 252,000 spectators, spread across 133 performances in 57 venues.
