58th edition: an eclectic musical summer
The 58th edition of the Bourbonnais Music Festival took place from July 21 to August 15, 2024, at the Saint-Pierre de Châteloy church and in the surrounding churches. Seven concerts punctuated this musical summer with a highly varied program.
The festival opened with the brilliant Quatuor Leonis in "Éclisse Totale," a burlesque program ranging from Haydn to James Brown. The Ensemble Bourbonnais offered entertainment music at the court of Louis XV with hurdy-gurdy, violin, and keyboard. The program "Syrinx, a dream of flight" brought together bird singers Jean Boucault and Johnny Rasse with flutist Pierre Hamon. The Quatuor Cobalt presented "Reflets du Temps," highlighting female composers. Pianist Alphonse Bich performed Chopin, Brahms, Beethoven, and Liszt. The duo Claire-Marie Le Guay (piano) and François Salque (cello) played Schubert, Beethoven, and Shostakovich. The festival concluded with the Sirba Octet with "A Yiddishe Mame.".
