2025 Edition — 18th Edition: "Musical Pilgrimage"
The 18th edition of the Brunoy Organ Festival took place from November 16 to 23, 2025 in the solemn setting of the Saint-Médard church. This year's theme, "Musical Pilgrimage", guided a program of four concerts with diverse musical worlds.
Detailed Program
The festival opened on November 16 at 4 p.m. with the Ensemble Cronexos presenting "Zefiro Torna", a program dedicated to 17th-century Italian music, blending the timbres of the organ with the polyphonic textures of the Baroque era. On November 19 at 8:30 p.m., a concert by students from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de l'Essonne showcased young instrumentalists (horn, cello, bassoon, accordion, saxophone) in a varied repertoire. On November 21 at 8:30 p.m., the recital "Pilgrimage of a Romantic Soul" featured soprano Claire Leroy, oboist David Gilbert, and organist Leonid Karev performing pieces by Grieg, Sibelius, Verdi, and Gounod in a highly emotional evening. The closing concert on November 23 at 4 p.m. offered a program of "Celestial Music and Russian Melodies", a mystical journey between sacred works and Orthodox traditions.
