Edition 2024 — Juin Jardins
The 19th edition of Cahors Juin Jardins, "Humus Miraculum", explored soil biodiversity and humus as a metaphor for artistic creation. The opening weekend took place from May 31 to June 2, 2024, with 21 private gardens open to the public and the 10th anniversary of the landscape gardens circuit in the region.
19th Edition - Humus Miraculum
Following "Germinations" in 2023, the festival continued its exploration of the origin of life with the theme "Humus Miraculum". This edition focused on humus, that top layer of soil created, maintained, and modified by the decomposition of organic matter, the true foundation of terrestrial life.
The opening weekend began on Friday, May 31, with the opening of the festival village, an inaugural walk at 4 pm, and the official inauguration at 7 pm, followed by a performance at 10:30 pm. On Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, 21 private gardens in Cahors opened their doors from 11 am to 7 pm, hosting artists, performances, workshops, and discussions.
This edition also marked the 10th anniversary of the landscape gardens, a circuit of gardens scattered throughout the Lot region. Community gardens in the Terre Rouge, Croix de Fer, and Pradines neighborhoods completed the route, anchoring the festival in a local and participatory approach.
