34th Edition: Spear Thrower and Bow Shooting at the Grotte du Mas-d'Azil
The 34th edition of the European Championship of Prehistoric Weapons Shooting took place from August 9 to 11, 2024 in Mas-d'Azil. Competitors from all over Europe competed with spear throwers and primitive bows in the majestic setting of the Grotte du Mas-d'Azil.
Friday evening opened the festivities with a javelin throwing class and a communal meal. On Saturday afternoon, the prehistoric archery competition allowed archers to demonstrate their skill on a natural course. On Sunday morning, spear thrower shooting crowned the European champions of the discipline. Workshops on flint knapping, fire starting, and making spear throwers completed the program.
