Edition 2025 — Opera in the Countryside
The first production by Opéra en Campagne, Bizet's Carmen, was presented on May 23, 24, and 25, 2025, at the Théâtre de Verdure in Nogent-le-Rotrou. Over 150 artists on stage—soloists, symphony orchestra, and local choirs—delighted over 3,000 spectators during three exceptional open-air performances.
Carmen - May 2025: A Historic Premiere
On May 23, 24, and 25, 2025, the Théâtre de Verdure in Nogent-le-Rotrou hosted the first production by Opéra en Campagne: Georges Bizet's Carmen. Under the musical direction of Pierre Ledru and in an original staging by Nicolas Gaudart, over 150 artists performed before a captivated audience.
On stage, 10 professional lyrical soloists, a symphony orchestra of 60 musicians, and two adult and children's choirs from the region brought one of the world's most popular operas to life. The three performances attracted over 3,000 spectators, who came from all over Perche and beyond to experience this unique lyrical event in a rural setting.
