28th Edition - Venetian Magic

The 28th edition of the Remiremont Venetian Carnival was held from Thursday, March 20 to Sunday, March 23, 2025, under the enchanting theme of "Venetian Magic." Over four hundred costumed participants from all over France and Europe transformed the abbey district of Remiremont into a grand Venetian stage.

On Thursday evening, the opening took place in an intimate and romantic atmosphere, immersing the first visitors in the fascinating world of the carnival. On Friday, the costumed participants paraded freely through the streets before the spectacular lantern parade at 8:30 p.m., where the Casanovas led the procession in front of the abbey church in a dim and mysterious light.

Saturday was marked by photo sessions in the picturesque areas of the town, concerts by the Balkan Express Orchestra at the media library and then at the Swan Fountain, and the grand evening sound and light parade on the stages of the abbey district. Sunday was the highlight with the legendary parade down the Rue des Arcades at 3 p.m., followed by the presentation of the costumed participants on the stages and a tribute to the founder Yves Chrétien at 5:30 p.m.

The Venetian market, set up on Rue de la Franche-Pierre from Friday to Sunday, offered crafts, masks, and culinary specialties to the tens of thousands of visitors.
