The 2024 edition of Caunes Fête Son Marbre took place from September 18 to 29, 2024. "Cathedral Chimeras" symposium with sculptors Thierry Auneau, Elke Montréal, and Mickaël Régent. Exhibitions, conferences, and guided tours of the quarries during the European Heritage Days.
Caunes Fête Son Marbre 2024: "Cathedral Chimeras"
From September 18 to 29, 2024, Caunes-Minervois celebrated its marble heritage with the "Cathedral Chimeras" symposium. Three sculptors — Thierry Auneau, Elke Montréal, and Mickaël Régent — worked the Caunes marble in public at the Écomusée Marbre et Terroir, from 9 am to 6 pm daily.
The weekend of the European Heritage Days (September 21-22) provided an opportunity for guided tours of the historic quarries and conferences on the history of Caunes marble.
