The 44th edition of the Chopin Festival in Paris offered about twenty recitals in the intimate setting of the Orangerie de Bagatelle. The program explored Chopin's Preludes, those characteristic pieces that the composer explored in all twenty-four keys, elevated to an unprecedented level of expression. The twenty-two invited performers presented these Preludes as an introduction to works by Beethoven, Scriabin, Liadov, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Shostakovich, Schubert, and Schumann.
