Comice Agricole 2024 - June 15

The 2024 edition of the Comice Agricole of the former canton of Châteauneuf-sur-Cher took place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, bringing together over 3,000 visitors to celebrate the rural and agricultural world of southern Cher. The exhibition park site hosted about thirty exhibitors of agricultural machinery: latest generation tractors, connected combine harvesters, agricultural drones, and vintage equipment restored by enthusiasts. The livestock competitions highlighted the finest specimens of Charolais cows, an emblematic breed of Berry, as well as local ewes and goats.

The inter-village games pitted ten communes from the canton against each other in fun and sporting events (wheelbarrow race, tug-of-war, straw bale toss), creating a festive and good-natured atmosphere. The producers' market offered about twenty stalls with goat cheeses, Charolais meats, organic vegetables, honey, and local wines. On-site catering delighted visitors with Berrichon specialties: grilled meats, pâtés, cheeses, and fruit tarts. A convivial day appreciated by participants and organizers.
