Edition 2024 — Confolens Festival

66th edition of the Confolens Festival, from August 12 to 18, 2024. Around 400 artists from all continents gathered in Confolens for a week of shows, parades, and entertainment centered around world dances and music. Among the invited groups were: the American Folk Ensemble (USA), Malanga Trad (Colombia), Crane Performers (Uganda), Ballet Folklorico Nicarahuatl (Nicaragua), Hei Show Tahiti Ori (Tahiti), the Ballet Folklorico Nacional Dominicano (Dominican Republic), the Société Royale des Gilles de Bouvy (Belgium), and ensembles from Serbia, Peru, and Benin. Highlight: the concert by Claudio Capéo on August 15 and the grand night parade followed by fireworks on August 16.

66th edition: five continents in Confolens

The 66th edition of the Confolens Festival took place from August 12 to 18, 2024, bringing together approximately 400 artists from all continents in the streets and on the stages of the Charente town. This edition confirmed the festival's international reach, with delegations representing about ten countries.

Highlights of the 2024 edition

August 15, traditionally the busiest day, was marked by a street festival and a grand parade, followed in the evening by a concert by Claudio Capéo at the Théâtre des Ribières. On August 16, the Nuit en Fête (Night of Celebration) featured a nighttime parade through the illuminated streets, punctuated by spectacular fireworks. The week concluded on Sunday, August 18, with a closing panorama bringing together all the troupes on the stage of the Théâtre des Ribières.
