Edition 2025 — Couleurs du Monde
25th anniversary of the Couleurs du Monde festival in Castres. From August 3 to 10, 2025, seven folk groups from Cuba, Costa Rica, India, Lesotho, Congo, Colombia, and Montenegro performed on the Place du 1er Mai. Nearly 200 artists and thousands of spectators for this edition celebrating a quarter-century of cultural diversity.
25th Anniversary: A Quarter Century of World Cultures
For its 25th anniversary, Couleurs du Monde hosted folk ensembles from seven countries from August 3 to 10, 2025, on the Place du 1er Mai in Castres. Nearly 200 artists shared their traditions during free shows every evening at 9:30 PM.
The opening on August 3 was entrusted to the El Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba, followed the next day by the ensemble Sueños Y Semillas from Costa Rica. On August 5, India's Ballet Guru – The Arts Hub transported the audience into a world of colors and rhythms. Lesotho was represented on August 6 by the ensemble Sotho Kids. After a day off, the Compagnie Biemb'Art from Congo set the stage ablaze on August 8, followed on August 9 by the Colombian company Herencia Viva. The closing on August 10 was ensured by the ensemble Tekstilac from Montenegro. A memorable edition for this emblematic festival of Castres.
