5th Rencontres Philosophiques Michel Serres – 2025 Edition

The 5th edition of the Rencontres Philosophiques Michel Serres took place from November 8 to 11, 2025, in Agen, around the theme "What Humanity Do We Want for Tomorrow? From the Body to the Cosmos." For the first time, the festival extended over four days, with the goal of exceeding 15,000 visitors.

This edition explored the new frontiers of humanity: artificial intelligence conquering territories long thought forbidden to machines, the changing body, social networks that undo, transform, and reweave social, political, and affective ties.

Among the speakers, Frédéric Worms gave a conference titled "Life, Death, and Rebirth of Humanity, How Michel Serres Enlightens Us," while Maya Kandel questioned the existence of a "reactionary international" from Donald Trump to Viktor Orbán. Diana Filippova, an essayist specializing in technology, was also among the guests.

The program included conferences on the body in the mirror of sport, work in the age of AI, and the religious question in the 21st century, as well as numerous philosophy workshops for young people and families.
