Edition 2025 — Trail des Bourriques
The first edition of the Festi-Trail des Bourriques was held on October 25, 2025, in Yssingeaux. Despite the rain and night, 500 runners from 21 departments started the three races at the Montbarnier stadium. Registrations had sold out a week before the event. Paulin Trivel won the Trail des Chanis (26 km). The festive evening at the gymnasium welcomed 600 guests for a giant croziflette followed by a DJ set.

First edition: a resounding success
On October 25, 2025, the first edition of the Festi-Trail des Bourriques took flight at the Montbarnier stadium in Yssingeaux. Organized by the young team of the association Les Auvergnades, the event immediately captivated the trail community: the 480 places were snapped up in a few weeks, with registrations selling out a week before the race.
The 500 runners — from 21 departments — braved difficult weather conditions, with rain and falling darkness on the trails of Yssingeaux and Saint-Jeures. Three races were offered in a semi-night format:
- Trail des Chanis: 26 km, 860 m D+, start at 5:15 PM
- Trail des Empuètes: 21 km, 715 m D+, start at 5:45 PM
- Trail des Clèdes: 13.5 km, 350 m D+, start at 6:00 PM
Paulin Trivel won the Trail des Chanis, dancing in the rain as he crossed the finish line, a symbol of the event's festive spirit.
After the effort, 600 croziflettes were served at the Montbarnier gymnasium, followed by a DJ set that extended the party late into the night. A successful debut that bodes well for the future of this new trail event in Haute-Loire.
