Edition 2025 — Baroque de Pontoise
Act I of the Festival Baroque de Pontoise 2025, the 40th anniversary edition under the theme “Philanthropists,” took place from September 27 to December 6, 2025. The opening featured Le Caravansérail directed by Bertrand Cuiller at the Church of Notre-Dame de Pontoise, followed by a rich series of concerts with nationally and internationally renowned ensembles.

Act I — Philanthropists (40th anniversary)
The Festival Baroque de Pontoise opened its 40th anniversary on Saturday, September 27, 2025, with an inaugural concert entrusted to Le Caravansérail, the ensemble directed by harpsichordist Bertrand Cuiller, at the Church of Notre-Dame de Pontoise.
Act I Program
The anniversary season was themed “Philanthropists”, in homage to the patrons of baroque music. The edition paid special tribute to Queen Christina of Sweden (1626-1689), whose 400th birthday is celebrated in 2026. A great patron of the arts, Christina brought the most talented musicians of her time to her court in Stockholm.
Among the highlights of Act I were a concert “Leclair in Light” (candlelight concert), a “Baroque Battle”, and a charitable concert “Origins”. The ensemble Faenza and contralto Lucile Richardot were also featured.
