9th Festival Contes des 5 Continents - 2025 Edition

The 9th edition of the Contes des 5 Continents festival took place from February 10 to 21, 2025, at the Petit Théâtre Jean Macé in Laval. For twelve days, 5 professional companies offered 3 shows for all audiences per day at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m., providing a rich and varied panorama of oral traditions from around the world.

Among the scheduled shows were La mécanique de petit Pierre by the Compagnie du Moulin en Herbe (February 10-14), Le rire de la lune by the Cie Théâtre du Tiroir, ten short modern fables from ancient India, Tout conte fait Baba Yaga, conte hiver by the Cie Canopée, Josette et son papa by the Cie Théâtre du Tiroir, three stories of love and humor between a father and daughter, and La fourmi en colère, three tales by the fireside.

The program also included Les petits contes nègres by the Cie Théâtre du Tiroir, stories reinvented by Blaise Cendrars, La petite lanterne, Le joueur de flûte by the Cie Canopée, Le plus courageux des peureux, and Petites bêtes pas bêtes, interactive tales from around the world (February 20-21).
