Three Days of Camargue Tradition
The 2024 edition of the Festival d'Abrivado des Plages took place from Saturday, November 9th to Monday, November 11th, 2024 in Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Thirty abrivados followed one another over three days, bringing together over a thousand horses and two hundred gardians in a magnificent display of Camargue tradition.
On Saturday, November 9th, nine abrivados paraded along a route from the fishermen's parking lot (Cinq Gorges) to the Bouvau d'Aubanel. On Sunday 10th and Monday 11th November, the columns of riders and bulls departed from the East beach (Rousty) to reach the arenas, with ten and eleven abrivados respectively. The breakfast offered on the beach at 11 AM marked the start of each day.
