The 30th edition of the Festival de l'Arpenteur took place from July 5 to 12, 2025, in Les Adrets, celebrating thirty years of sloping theatre and avalancheous word on the slopes of Belledonne. For this exceptional anniversary, Scènes obliques offered a rich program combining live performances, literature, concerts, reading hikes, workshops, and the mythical sloping banquet.

30th Edition - L'Arpenteur Celebrates 30 Years
The 2025 edition of the Festival de l'Arpenteur marked a historic milestone: thirty years of artistic creation in the mountains. From July 5 to 12, 2025, the village of Les Adrets in Belledonne hosted an exceptional program to celebrate this anniversary, under the direction of Laetitia Cuvelier.
True to Antoine Choplin's founding spirit, this anniversary edition offered a clever mix of theatre, storytelling, performances, and exhibitions. The invited artists, both renowned and emerging, participated in an atypical, sensitive, and human adventure, both on stage and in the festival's convivial spaces.
Program Highlights
Sloping theatre, the festival's signature, played a central role with creations performed on the iconic slopes of Les Adrets. The reading hikes took the audience to the refuges and ridges of Belledonne, combining physical effort with literary discovery. The randophilo, playful introductions to philosophy in motion, allowed for reflection while walking.
The bivouac, the festival's beating heart, hosted homemade food, a pop-up bookstore, concerts, and readings every evening from 5:30 PM. The cabaret incertain, an emblematic open stage, brought together amateur and professional artists in a moment of spontaneous sharing. The edition concluded with the traditional sloping banquet followed by a festive dance, bringing together festival-goers and locals in a moment of collective celebration.
