13th Edition - Cahors Organ Festival 2024

The 13th edition of the Cahors Organ Festival offered a varied and ambitious program, featuring the discovery of young talents, medieval music, and a tribute to French musical heritage.

Program

  • School Concert: a musical version of the tale Hansel and Gretel, with two actor-musicians in a magical staging where the organ plays a central role.
  • Young Talent Recital: young Russian organist Anna Orlova had carte blanche for her program.
  • Medieval and Renaissance Day: on Saturday, concerts with Olivier Bensa (lute), Cécile Cardinot (voice), Albertus Dercksen (organ) for the market concert, then Gaëlle Coulon (organetto, voice, organ) and Mickael Durand (organ, viola da gamba, percussion) for the main evening concert.
  • Closing Concert: tribute to Gabriel Fauré on the centenary of his death, by the Chœur d'Apamée conducted by Alex Rival, with soloists Clara Marion, Olivier Rastouil, and organist William Fielding.
