Edition 2025 — Rencontres Musicales de Figeac
The 28th edition of the Rencontres Musicales de Figeac took place from August 6 to 20, 2025, in the emblematic venues of Grand Figeac. The festival offered a rich program combining orchestral concerts, chamber music, recitals, and master-classes in the region's churches and castles.
28th Edition — Rencontres Musicales de Figeac 2025
From August 6 to 20, 2025, the 28th edition of the Rencontres Musicales de Figeac took over the characteristic sites of Figeac and its surroundings: the Abbatiale Saint-Sauveur, the Abbaye de Loc Dieu, the castles of Saint-Dau and Béduer, as well as the churches of neighboring villages.
Highlights
The festival featured a show around Victor Hugo combining poetry and music, as well as seven-century-old sacred chants performed in Romanesque churches. On August 12, a free concert by students and master-class participants was held at Place des Écritures, followed by a piano recital by Alexandra Lescure at the church of Faycelles with works by Royer, Scarlatti, Duphly, Chopin, and Mozart.
On August 13 and 14, the main concerts featured Bach's Concerto in D minor for two violins and Mozart's Great Mass in C minor, performed by the festival's choir and orchestra at the Abbaye de Loc Dieu and the Église Saint-Sauveur in Figeac. The festival's "Best of" concert concluded the edition on August 19 at the Église du Puy.
In partnership with the Musée Champollion, a free concert by Étienne Champollion and Mina Ghobrial was given at Place de la Halle.
