Edition 2025 — Festival d'Aurillac
The 38th edition of the Festival International de Théâtre de Rue d'Aurillac was held from August 20-23, 2025, with an exceptional focus on the Brazilian artistic scene as part of the France-Brazil Season 2025. Nearly 3,000 artists and over 670 passing companies took over the streets of Aurillac, attracting more than 140,000 spectators.
38th Edition - Focus Brazil
The 2025 edition of the Festival d'Aurillac was marked by an exceptional focus on Brazil, as part of the France-Brazil Season 2025. Out of the 19 companies in the official selection, 7 were invited as part of this focus, presenting works addressing essential themes: environmental protection, minority rights, poverty, solidarity, and censorship.
Brazilian artists took over public space as a site for collective expression, addressing social struggles, memory, and celebration. Their creations questioned dominant narratives, celebrated the body as a tool of resistance, and proposed a different way of inhabiting the world.
In parallel to the official selection, over 670 passing companies offered nearly 800 performances in the streets, squares, and parks of Aurillac. The Champ libre ! (Free Field!) program, a creative laboratory for street arts, took place from July 26 to August 10, with six companies traveling through Cantal to give nearly 25 performances in as many towns.
