77th Edition: Between Tradition and Renewal
The 77th edition of the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence was held from July 4 to 21, 2025. The highlight of this edition was the new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Grand Théâtre de Provence, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle leading the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, directed by Robert Icke.
The program also included Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de perles in concert version, conducted by Marc Minkowski with singers Pene Pati, Florian Sempey, and Mané Galoyan, as well as Verdi's La forza del destino, co-presented with the Chorégies d'Orange under the direction of Daniele Rustioni, and Cavalli's La Calisto, continuing the festival's tradition of Cavalli operas.
