5th edition: a beautiful maturity

The 5th edition of the Loupiote Festival took over the streets and squares of Castelnau-de-Montmiral from July 2 to 6, 2025, for five days of traditional music and dances from the Massif Central. An anniversary edition that confirmed the vitality of this event dedicated to the transmission and sharing of living popular traditions.

The 2025 program brought together renowned groups from the Occitan and French folk and traditional scene: bal music groups, trad music ensembles, pipers, singers, and dancers alternated workshops, concerts, and dances for five days in this exceptional medieval setting. The evening dances in the village square brought together hundreds of dancers of all levels each night, from the initiated who master all the steps to the family coming to discover the Auvergne bourrée or the Occitan mazurka for the first time.

The daytime workshops allowed many participants to deepen their practice or start discovering traditional dances and music, under the guidance of passionate and pedagogical musicians and dancers. Children were not forgotten, with workshops specially designed for young festival-goers, ensuring intergenerational transmission at the heart of the Loupiote project.
