2025 Edition — A Painful Cancellation
The 2025 edition of Festival Moins 5, planned from May 29 to June 1, 2025, at the CyberGlace Ice Rink in Monéteau, has been forced into cancellation. The Compagnie Moins 5 explained this decision by the national political uncertainty arising from the dissolution of the National Assembly in June 2024 and the absence of a state budget for the 2025 fiscal year, which deprived the company of its usual public funding, essential for organizing the event.
This cancellation, experienced as a difficult but responsible decision, illustrates the fragility of medium-sized cultural structures in the face of institutional uncertainties. The Compagnie Moins 5 nevertheless continued its artistic activities in 2025, with the presentation of the show Trace(S) in November 2025, as part of the Contemporary Skating Alliance — Performing Arts Project, bringing together artists from five European and North American countries.
Planned Theme
The 2025 edition was intended to place artistic reflection and commitment at the heart of its program, with the guiding theme: « daring to challenge the status quo through ideas and words ». The shows, open stages, and debates were to revolve around this invitation to take creative and intellectual risks.
