22nd Edition — Youth in the Spotlight

The 2025 edition of the Musicancy Festival placed youth at the heart of its program, through performances designed with them, participatory activities, and concerts open to all ages. Fifty-one choristers from La Maîtrise de Dijon participated in the creation of a contemporary opera by Edwin Baudo, while forty-five students from the Ancy-le-Franc primary school were involved in two concerts.

2025 Program

  • May 3 — “Les Nuits d'une Demoiselle”: Ensemble Contraste and Lucile Richardot, mezzo-soprano, Victoire de la Musique 2025. A program exploring feminine melancholy by Poulenc, Satie, and Lili Boulanger.
  • May 24 — “Fifth Brandenburg Concerto”: Benjamin Alard on harpsichord, surrounded by his musician colleagues, for a deep dive into Bach's genius.
  • June 27 — “Le Ballon Rouge”: Les Traversées Baroques with Judith Pacquier and Étienne Meyer, an enchanting program combining baroque music and silent film.
  • June 28 — “Le Petit Vagabond”: La Maîtrise de Dijon, a vocal performance for young audiences blending singing and storytelling.
  • July 17 — “Pygmalion”: Ensemble Masques under the direction of Olivier Fortin, performing Rameau's cantata and 18th-century French instrumental works.
  • August 5 — “La Nuit Merveilleuse #2”: Les Timbres, Harmonia Lenis, and storyteller Pierre Deschamps for a nocturnal and poetic wandering through the illuminated castle.
  • September 14 — “The Four Seasons”: Le Consort with violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte — Vivaldi magnified in the castle gardens to close the season.

This edition confirmed the vitality of the regional baroque scene while affirming the festival's national and international ambition, featuring award-winning artists recognized at the highest levels of their art.
