11th Edition — October 2025
The 11th edition of the Festival Passions Baroques lived up to its promises from October 2 to 12, 2025, offering ten days of exceptional quality baroque concerts in the most remarkable monuments of Montauban and its region.
Le Poème Harmonique and Isabelle Druet
One of the highlights of the edition was the concert by Le Poème Harmonique, Vincent Dumestre's ensemble, a recognized specialist in Renaissance and early baroque music. Accompanied by mezzo-soprano Isabelle Druet, the ensemble presented a program of 17th-century songs and arias of remarkable finesse and expressiveness, acclaimed by a captivated audience.
The Jeune Orchestre Baroque Européen (JOBE)
The presence of the Jeune Orchestre Baroque Européen — an ensemble composed of young instrumentalists selected from across Europe — illustrated the festival's commitment to the new generations of baroque musicians. Their vitality and interpretive freshness delighted a similarly young audience.
The Orchestre Les Passions with Jean-Marc Andrieu
The founding ensemble of the festival, the Orchestre Les Passions under the baton of Jean-Marc Andrieu, offered several concerts over these ten days, including an evening in the incomparable acoustics of the Abbaye de Belleperche — a timeless moment that will remain in the memories of many festival-goers.
Dulci Jubilo, Ensemble Calico, and Soloists
The vocal ensemble Dulci Jubilo (directed by Christopher Gibert) and the Ensemble Calico completed an exceptionally rich program, alongside talented soloists: baritone Félix Merle, soprano Noëlle Drost, and countertenor Arnaud Gluck.
Exhibition: Opera Costumes from the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles
Alongside the concerts, the festival hosted an exceptional exhibition on loan from the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles: a collection of sumptuous 17th and 18th-century opera costumes. This exhibition enriched the public's experience by opening a window onto the visual and scenic world of baroque performance at the French Court.
