34th Fête de l'Estive - 2026 Edition

The 34th edition of the Fête de l'Estive will take place on the weekend of May 23rd and 24th, 2026 in Allanche. This unmissable transhumance event in Cantal promises once again to bring together tens of thousands of visitors around the Salers cow herds and the pastoral traditions of Cézallier.

On Saturday, May 23rd, Salers herds will parade through the streets of Allanche to the rhythm of bands and folk groups. The large local produce market will offer cheeses, cured meats, and Cantal specialties. Cheese making demonstrations, exhibitions, an educational farm, and street entertainment will complete the program.

On Sunday, May 24th, the traditional free ascent to the summer pasture will allow hikers to accompany a breeder and their herd to the high-altitude pastures, during a guided walk of about 22 km through the spectacular landscapes of Cézallier.
