The Fête de la Libération de Joigny 2025 commemorated the 81st anniversary of the town's liberation by Groupe Bayard. The official ceremony, the grand fireworks display from the Yonne riverbanks, and the ball hosted by the orchestra Équinoxe brought together residents and visitors in a spirit of remembrance and celebration.

81st Anniversary of the Liberation — August 22, 2025
Joigny commemorated the 81st anniversary of its liberation on August 22, 2025, in the presence of elected officials, patriotic associations, and a large crowd gathered to honor the memory of the resistance fighters of Groupe Bayard.
The official ceremony recalled the courage of Paul Herbin and his comrades, thirty-five of whom gave their lives for freedom. Visits to the Musée de la Résistance - Groupe Bayard were organized during the day, allowing younger generations to engage with this exemplary local history.
In the evening, the grand fireworks display launched from the Yonne riverbanks lit up Joigny's sky to the applause of spectators gathered along the river. The popular ball with the orchestra Équinoxe extended the festivities late into the night.
