2025 Edition — The 724th Rosemary Festival
On February 22, 2025, Dourgne celebrated the 724th edition of its Rosemary Festival at the Place des Promenades, from 10 am to 7:30 pm. Once again, this age-old tradition brought together inhabitants, schoolchildren, and visitors from all over the Tarn to perpetuate the memory of the village's reconstruction granted by Philip IV the Fair in 1301.
The day began with the traditional parade in medieval costumes, with elected officials, associations, and village residents proudly carrying their rosemary branches through the streets of Dourgne. At the Place des Promenades, curious onlookers could witness the making and tasting of curbelets, these small, crispy rolled waffles, a sweet specialty of the festival.
The Compagnie du Goupil set the square ablaze with a fire show combining juggling, luminous parades, and acrobatic feats. The Compagnons du Chêne Ardent led traditional Occitan dances and round dances, while musical entertainment echoed throughout the village. The youngest attendees enjoyed the medieval candy catapult, amidst laughter and applause. The abbeys of En Calcat and Sainte-Scholastique hosted children's dances and shows in the late afternoon.
