596th edition - Joan, reflection of History

The 596th edition of the Fêtes de Jeanne d'Arc took place from April 29 to May 11, 2025, under the theme 'Joan, reflection of History'. Capucine Delaloy, a 16-year-old Orléans high school student, was chosen to embody the Maid of Orléans, accompanied by her pages François-Xavier Mercury and Erwann Mayeux.

The program opened on April 29 with the sword presentation ceremony at 7:30 PM on the parvis of the cathedral, followed by the procession on May 1 starting from Place du Martroi. Under a radiant sun, Capucine Delaloy in armor rode through the streets of Orléans, crossing the Loire towards Saint-Jean-de-Braye and Saint-Jean-le-Blanc.

Among the new features of this edition: a peace concert on May 5 at the Notre-Dame des Miracles church, led by children from singing classes in partnership with the Cathedral Choir; an extended medieval market from May 7 to 11 at Campo Santo; and a special medieval family day on May 3 at Place du Martroi.

The sound and light show 'Joan, reflection of History' illuminated the facade of the Sainte-Croix Cathedral on May 7 at 10:30 PM. May 8 brought together the official ceremonies: a solemn mass presided over by Bishop Christory, a military parade, and the commemorative procession.
