37 free hikes to discover the treasures of Orne
The Hike in the Orne Festival (Randos 61) is a departmental event organized every spring by Tourisme 61 and the FFRandonnée committee of Orne. Over a weekend in April, about thirty free, guided hikes are offered to walkers of all levels to discover the riches of Orne. From 2 to 25 km, the routes cross hedgerows, forests, valleys, and villages, led by guides who share anecdotes, history, and knowledge about local flora and fauna.
Orne is a department with remarkably varied landscapes: green hedgerows of Domfrontais, hills and gorges of Normandy Switzerland, deep forests of Écouves and Andaines, romantic valleys of Perche, plains of Pays d'Auge and Pays d'Argentan. The Hike Festival invites you to discover this mosaic of landscapes through carefully selected and commented routes by local guides.
The Randos 61 program offers about thirty hikes spread across the entire Orne territory:
Each hike is led by trained volunteers, often members of the FFRandonnée, who know their territory perfectly and passionately share the riches of the natural and historical heritage crossed.
The hikes are organized around themes that enrich the walking experience:
Coordinated by Tourisme 61 in partnership with the FFRandonnée Orne committee and tourist offices, the Hike Festival is a unifying event that mobilizes dozens of volunteers and partners. It contributes to the tourism promotion of Orne and the enhancement of its network of marked trails, among the densest in Normandy.
Registration is free but mandatory, as places are limited to ensure the quality of supervision and the conviviality of the groups.
