32nd Edition — Ghosts and Spirits
From January 29 to February 2, 2025, the 32nd edition of the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival plunged festival-goers into the world of ghosts and spirits. The retrospective revisited genre classics, from The Ghost and Mrs. Muir to A Ghost Story, including Onibaba and Macabre.
The feature film jury, presided over by actress Vimala Pons, accompanied by Vladimir Cauchemar, Jérémy Clapin, Clotilde Hesme, William Lebghil, Caroline Poggi, and Jonathan Vinel, awarded the Grand Prix to In a Violent Nature by Chris Nash (Canada). The Jury Prize was awarded ex-aequo to Exhuma by Jang Jae-hyun (South Korea) and Rumours by Guy Maddin (Canada). The Critics' Prize and the Young Jury Prize honored The Cursed by Pedro Martín-Calero (Spain). The Audience Award went to Oddity by Damian Mc Carthy (Ireland). In short films, the jury presided over by Emma Benestan awarded the Grand Prix to Blood Ties by Hakim Atoui.
