Grand PianO Festival

First edition: the birth of a festival

From June 28 to July 2, 2023, the Grand PianO Festival was born in Orléans to celebrate the piano in all its diversity. This first edition brought together 30 artists in 15 venues in the city center, from shopping streets to concert halls, including museums and libraries.

Three major paid evenings punctuated the festival: Oxmo Puccino & Yaron Herman at the Salle de l'Institut on June 29, Vanessa Wagner, GoGo Penguin, and Julien Granel at the Campo Santo on June 30, and Mentissa, Sofiane Pamart, and Francesco Tristano at the Campo Santo on July 1. Pianos for public use were set up at the media library, the Tourist Office, in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, and at the Saint-Pierre-le-Puellier collegiate church.

The festival concluded with a spectacular performance of Stravinsky's *The Rite of Spring* for four singers, four pianos, and six percussionists, as well as a concert by the Ensemble StaccaToy featuring eight toy pianos played by professional pianists.

• Thursday, June 29: Oxmo Puccino & Yaron Herman — Salle de l'Institut (paid, €15)
• Friday, June 30: Vanessa Wagner + GoGo Penguin + Julien Granel — Campo Santo (paid, €25). DJ sets at the opening and between sets.
• Saturday, July 1: Mentissa + Sofiane Pamart + Francesco Tristano — Campo Santo (paid, €25). DJ sets at the opening and between sets.
• June 28 to July 2: Free concerts in public spaces, pianos for public use, events in shops and cultural venues in the city center.
