Edition 2025 — Grand PianO Festival
Third edition of the Grand PianO Festival, themed around New Orleans. Four days of festival with Lucas Debargue, L'Impératrice, Ayọ, Baptiste Trotignon, Victor Campbell, and Sarah McCoy.
Third edition: heading to New Orleans
From June 26 to 29, 2025, the third edition of the Grand PianO Festival paid tribute to New Orleans, a city twinned with Orléans since 2018 and the cradle of jazz. The theme “Fa Si La Rêver” guided a program celebrating music as a philosophy of life.
Pianist Lucas Debargue, winner of the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition, opened the festival at the Salle de l'Institut with a program dedicated to Fauré and Ravel. The main evening of Friday, June 27, at the Campo Santo brought together New Orleans-based pianist Victor Campbell, the major figure of French jazz Baptiste Trotignon, the soul-folk singer Ayọ, and the group L'Impératrice.
On Saturday, Sarah McCoy and Cocodrile Gombo performed outdoors at Place de Loire. Sunday concluded the festival with the Duo Jatekok, a conference on the culture of Black Masking Indians, the group RedFish, and a Second Line parade through the city streets.
