19th Edition: Portuguese Guitar in the Spotlight
The 19th edition of the Guitares en Picardie festival took place from May to June 2025, offering about twenty free concerts in the towns of Aisne. Among the highlights of this edition, the Duo DUsul, composed of Gonçalo Rosa (Portuguese guitar) and Eudoro Grade (classical guitar), presented a program of Portuguese and Brazilian music described as 'a repertoire that is both refined and accessible,' showcasing the sonic complementarity of these two instruments.
The Duo DUsul concert was held on May 10th at the church of Manicamp, perfectly illustrating the festival's traveling spirit that takes over the heritage sites of small towns in Aisne. As with every edition, the Aisne Guitar Ensemble, directed by Frédéric Bernard, participated in several concerts, offering the department's guitar students the opportunity to perform alongside professional artists.
The programming once again covered a wide spectrum of guitar styles, from classical music to jazz, from flamenco to world music, confirming the festival's eclectic and generous mission.
