61st Edition - World Cultures in Velay
The 2025 edition of Interfolk brought together 10 folk companies from all continents for a week of performances, encounters, and cultural sharing in Le Puy-en-Velay and the Haute-Loire department.
The opening gala was held on Wednesday, July 23rd at 9 PM at the Palais des Congrès in Vals-près-le-Puy, bringing together ensembles from England, Cuba, Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan, Colombia, and the Marquesas Islands in a colorful show.
Throughout the week, the folk groups performed in thirty towns in the department, offering free open-air shows combining traditional dances, world music, and folk costumes. The festival also hosted ensembles from Catalonia, Provence, Montenegro, Togo, Bolivia, China, Uganda, Mexico, and Moldova.
The week concluded with the traditional Le Puy en Fête, a closing day featuring a grand parade of all groups through the streets of Le Puy-en-Velay and an evening parade on Saturday, July 26th.
