Journées Olympe de Gouges 2025 — Montauban celebrates women's rights
In 2025, while awaiting the major event of the 20th anniversary in 2026, the City of Montauban organized cultural events around March 8th, International Women's Rights Day. Theatrical readings of Olympe de Gouges' texts, meetings with female authors, and exhibitions were offered in the city's cultural venues.
The Théâtre Olympe de Gouges hosted performances and meetings with committed female artists, while the Musée Ingres-Bourdelle and other city sites offered exhibitions related to the condition of women and contemporary feminism. These events, more modest than in the years of the major biennial edition, nevertheless kept alive the flame of remembrance of Olympe de Gouges and the city's commitment to equal rights.
