19th Edition — November-December 2025

The 19th edition of Kinotayo took place from November 21 to December 13, 2025, in Paris. Seven films were in competition for the Golden Sun: BAKA's Identity, Maru, A Bad Summer, Dear Tomorrow, Diamonds in the Sand, River Returns, and Numakage Public Pool.

Eleven films out of competition completed the program, including four highly anticipated French premieres: Scarlett and Eternity by Mamoru Hosoda, Rental Family by Hikari, Samurai in Time by Jun'ichi Yasuda, and The Master of Kabuki by Sang-Il Lee.

The theme that naturally emerged from this year's selection concerned loneliness and isolation, reflecting the concerns of contemporary Japanese society.
