The last edition under the artistic direction of Stéphane Bou after ten years of programming.

39th Edition — The Summer of Renewal, Laughter, and Tears

The 39th edition of L'Été de Vaour took place from August 5th to 10th, 2025 in the village of Vaour, with L'Été Vagabond as a prelude from July 19th to 27th, which spread six companies across the communes of Cordais and Causse: Noailles, Saint-Michel-de-Vax, Vaour, Saint-Martin-Laguépie, Cordes-sur-Ciel, and Cap'Découverte, in front of local audiences with free access.

The 2025 festival offered 51 performances, including 31 with free access or voluntary contribution. The program explored universal themes—childhood, love, sexuality, ecology, psychoanalysis—through about ten shows per day, in the various spaces of the village: the Commandery Theatre (equipped with air conditioning for the first time), the stadium with its new, larger tent, the schoolyard, the gardens, and the goat shed. Several performances were sold out (including 'De la mort qui tue', 'L'arrière-pays', and 'Kabinet'), demonstrating the audience's enthusiasm for this edition.

This edition was also marked by an emotional moment: Stéphane Bou, artistic director for ten years, presented his last program before handing over the reins to a new team for the 40th anniversary in 2026. The L'Été Vagabond team brought together six companies: Leandre ('Fly me to the moon'), Cie Astropophe ('Le gros crépuscule'), Cie 126 kilos & Cie Toi d'abord ('Quatuor'), Cie La Véganova ('Voyoues'), Joan Català ('Pelat'), and Cie La Folle Allure ('Faudrait pas rester plantés là').

The 2025 cultural season had paved the way with notable performances at the Commandery Theatre: Baro d'evel ('La Cachette', sold out), Jur Domingo / Cridacompany ('Maintenant ou jamais'), Rocking Chair Théâtre ('L'art d'accommoder les restes'), and other forms supported by the association as part of its creation residencies.
