2025 Edition - A Historic Medieval Festival in France's Favorite Village

On August 2nd and 3rd, 2025, Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye, freshly voted France's Favorite Village 2025, hosted the 15th edition of its grand medieval festival. From noon to midnight, the village vibrated to the rhythm of the Middle Ages, attracting over 10,000 visitors from across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and beyond.

The artistic program, orchestrated by Rue Haute Productions, featured over 60 daily performances across twelve stage areas: street theater, storytelling, equestrian shows, music, dance, and circus arts. The closing show by the Imaziren company, in front of over 5,000 spectators, offered a memorable pyrotechnic finale.

The knight tournaments, which have become a must-see since their introduction in 2023, once again enthralled the public. The medieval camp offered workshops in archery, crossbow shooting, sword fighting, medieval cooking, calligraphy, chainmail making, and apothecary. The craft market brought together artisans specializing in leather, wood, jewelry, and period costumes.

This edition highlighted the village's hospital past, the cradle of the Order of the Antonines, with a theme evoking the historic visit of Emperor Sigismund during a pilgrimage.
