Edition 2025 — Las Rapatonadas
45th edition of the oldest storytelling festival in France. From November 7 to 15, 2025, Las Rapatonadas offered a rich program combining storytelling performances at the Théâtre d'Aurillac, Occitan vigils, storytelling aperitifs in cafes, and performances in the communes of Cantal.
45th Edition — A Program Between Tradition and Modernity
For this 45th edition, Las Rapatonadas offered a week of performances and meetings around storytelling and orality, from November 7 to 15, 2025. The festival took over the Théâtre d'Aurillac, Le Sismographe, L'Ostal del Telh, and several communes in the Cantal department.
Highlights at the Théâtre d'Aurillac
Two performances were presented on the stage of the Théâtre d'Aurillac. On Friday, November 7 at 6 PM, the official inauguration at the Chauffoir du Théâtre was followed by the performance "L'Audace du Papillon" by Sabrina Chézeau / Compagnie La Farouche. On Wednesday, November 12 at 8:30 PM, Stéphanie Bénéteau and Cédric Landry were given carte blanche for a vibrant performance combining storytelling and music.
Vigils and Storytelling Aperitifs
True to its spirit of conviviality, the festival offered storytelling aperitifs in Aurillac's cafes, notably at Café Le Faisan Doré. The Tot en òc ! (all in Occitan) vigils at L'Ostal del Telh kept the language and stories of Haute-Auvergne alive. On Saturday, November 8, a meeting with Jean-Louis Quériaud was held at Le Sismographe.
Young Audiences and School Sessions
The performance "Même pas peur !" (Not even scared!), aimed at children aged 5 and up, was presented at the Centre Social de Cap-Blanc. School sessions took place at the Théâtre d'Aurillac on Monday, November 10, and Wednesday, November 12. The Médiathèque d'Aurillac hosted the performance "De Grimm à Rose Latulipe" for children from cycle 3 onwards.
Electro-Trad Evening
On Friday, November 7 at Le Sismographe, the festival presented MaQx — Electro Trad, followed by La Light du Borgot with Cédric Landry, for a dance featuring a mix of traditional music and electronic sounds, in the open spirit that characterizes Las Rapatonadas.
