30th edition: thirty years of remembrance and hiking
The 30th edition of Le Chemin de la Liberté took place from July 11 to 14, 2024, marking thirty years of commemorative hiking on the escape routes of World War II. Two formulas were offered: the Grande Traversée over 4 days (July 11-14) and the Haute Montagne option over 2 days (July 13-14).
Participants walked from Saint-Girons to Esterri d'Aneu in Spanish Catalonia, crossing high mountain passes and the spectacular landscapes of the central Pyrenees, following in the footsteps of the thousands of men and women who took this path to flee Nazi occupation.

Program - July 11 to 14, 2024
- July 11: Departure from Saint-Girons — 1st stage
- July 12: 2nd stage in mid-mountain
- July 13: 3rd stage and departure of the Haute Montagne option — crossing the passes
- July 14: 4th stage — arrival in Esterri d'Aneu (Spain)
