31st edition of Le Chemin de la Liberté, from July 10 to 13, 2025. 4-day commemorative hike from Saint-Girons to Esterri d'Aneu, on the escape routes of World War II.
31st edition: remembrance on the move
The 31st edition of Le Chemin de la Liberté took place from July 10 to 13, 2025. Participants crossed the Pyrenees from Saint-Girons to Esterri d'Aneu in four days of intensive hiking, following the high-altitude trails and passes that escapees crossed during World War II.
Technical supervision, provided by the Club Alpin Français of Saint-Girons and affiliated clubs, ensured the safety of the hikers on this demanding high-mountain trek. Historical testimonies and encounters with descendants of escapees punctuated the route.

- July 10: Departure from Saint-Girons — 1st stage
- July 11: 2nd stage in mid-mountain
- July 12: 3rd stage — crossing of high-altitude passes
- July 13: 4th stage — arrival in Esterri d'Aneu (Spain)
